Derived Contracts

A Derived Contract is a contract that shares allotment and rates with the Master Contract, with a rate delta (difference) expressed as a percentage or a fixed amount.

Specifically, the derived contract shares by default with the Master Contract:

  • Validity
  • Availability (Allotment, Allotment Flex, Minimum and Maximum stay, Stop sale etc...)
  • Tariffs and margins (to which the specified delta is applied)
  • Meal plans
  • Blocks and nationalities To create a new derived contract, you need to click on the “+” icon:

A derived contract is defined by:

  • name (which can be inherited from the Master Contract)
  • tariff delta which can be of two types:
    • amount: you must specify at least one value (which can also be negative) for each room type. This amount will be added to or subtracted from the equivalent amount in the Master Contract tariffs. (For example: half board has a supplement of €10 per guest on top of the bed&breakfast tariffs)
    • percentage: you can set a single value that will be applied to the rates of all room types. (For example: the superior room costs 10% more than the standard room)

It is possible to not inherit certain elements from the Master Contract by deselecting the relevant option. In this case, the section you want to customize for the derived contract will be available in the command menu. In addition to this, you can set a booking and/or check-in window that is valid only for the derived contract, as well as change the room type.

A derived contract can also be blocked independently from the Master Contract using the dedicated toggle switch.

Please note the following behaviors:

  • Any Promotions will be applied to the delta defined in the derived contract. (If you want Promotions not to be applied to Supplements, you should enter them as Supplements). If you want Promotions to affect only the Tariffs, you need to use a "Depends on" Contract

  • if there are no Tariffs in the Master Contract, the availability defined in the Derived Contract will not be shown

  • the Min Stay values set in a Derived Contract must be more restrictive than those defined in the Master Contract; otherwise, the Min Stay rules from the Master Contract will apply
